Front Desk Associate
MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR WORK AT MINIMUM: THURSDAY, FRIDAYS, MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS including HOLIDAYS
Starting Pay: $13/hr (May be more depending on experience)
Overview:
The Front Desk Associate is responsible for performing a variety of customer service focused duties to facilitate a positive experience for our guests. Included in the Front Desk Associates's responsibilities are: checking-in and checking-out procedures, providing assistance to guests by answering questions and offering recommendations. Meeting and exceeding guests expectations by problem solving any unexpected travel changes. The Front Desk Associate is a liaison between the guest and the hotel.
Responsibilities: (not limited to)
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
• Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times
• Maintain complete knowledge at all times of: a) all hotel features/services, hours of operation; b) all room rates, special packages and promotions; c) daily house count and expected arrivals/departures; d) scheduled daily group activities
• Keep register and change box secure/accurate at all times
• Answer department telephone, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette
• Process all guest check-ins & check-outs
• Verify registration card information with the guest
• Obtain back-up information for guest credit/payment method and input into system; collect cash when designated
• Handle overbooked or walked in guests
• Accept and record wake-up call requests
• Monitor, send and distribute guest faxes
• Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments/personnel (i.e., special requests, amenity delivery)
• Resolve discrepancies on the room status report with Housekeeping
• Match the bucket check to in-house guest ledger report; report discrepancies to Manager
• Process adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, miscellaneous charges
• Restock pool towels when needed
• Deliver rollaway beds, and or linen when requested
Qualifications:
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• One year previous experience in a similar position, preferably at a hotel
• Basic computer skills, satisfactory customer service, ability to multitask, and MUST be organized, clean, and professional
